Swim of the Century

The Swim of the Century was an open water swim by Walter Poenisch in 1972 of 90.75 miles (146 km) across the Straits of Florida in the Atlantic Ocean. The swim was sponsored by Borden Burger of Columbus and co-sponsored by the International Swimming Hall of Fame.
