Taylor Knight Abbott (born 3 June 1998) is an American pool and open water swimmer from the University of Tennessee.
Open Water Swimming Career[edit]
- He won the Youth boys (ages 14-16) 5 km race at the 2014 FINA World Junior Open Water Swimming Championships in Lake Balaton, Balatonfured, Hungary
- He captured a bronze medal in the 3 km team pursuit event together with Simon Lamar and Kylie Mitchell at the 2014 FINA World Junior Open Water Swimming Championships in Lake Balaton, Balatonfured, Hungary
- He won the 1.5 km and 5 km races at the 2015 Barbados Open Water Festival in Carlisle Bay in Barbados
- He competed in the 10 km race at the 2016 FINA World Junior Open Water Swimming Championships in Hoorn, Netherlands after qualifying at the 2016 USA Swimming National Open Water Swimming Championships in Fort Myers, Florida.
- He qualified for the 10 km marathon swim at the 2017 World University Games in Taiwan.
- He was awarded with the 2017 Open Water Excellence Award.
- He finished second overall in the 1.5 km and 5 km races at the 2017 Barbados Open Water Festival.
- On 14 April 2018, he won the Crippen Cup 10K at the Open Water Festival at Miromar Lakes, Florida.
- He was part of the winning 5 km Mixed Team Relay at the French National Open Water Swimming Championships in Gravelines, France on 1 June 2018 together with Haley Anderson, Ashley Twichell, and Michael Brinegar.
- He finished 8th in the 2018 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships 10 km marathon swim in Chiba, Japan on 14 August 2018.
- He finished 10th in the 2019 USA Swimming National Open Water Swimming Championships in the 10 km race in Miami, Florida on 3 May 2019.
- He finished 16th in the 2019 USA Swimming National Open Water Swimming Championships in the 5 km race in Miami, Florida on 5 May 2019 in 55:33.08 at the age of 20.
- He finished 3rd in the XVIII Pan American Games 10 km race on 4 August 2019 in Laguna Bujama in Lima, Peru.
