He helped Antonio Argüelles complete his 7th crossing of the 32.3 km Catalina Channel from Santa Catalina Island to the Palos Verdes Peninsula in hours minutes with escort kayakers Dan Simonelli and Jeffrey Rake, crew chief Ricardo Durón, CCSF observers Donald Van Cleve and Steve Sutton, and support crew Jimena Argüelles, Dr. Ariadna del Villar, Adam Skolnick, Diana Nyad, Brad Howe, and Steven Munatones on 27 August 2025 at the age of 66.
