It is site of the Asbury Park Ocean Mile that is part of the New Jersey Race Club Ocean Swim Series (Asbury Park Ocean Mile Swim in June, the Sea Bright Ocean Mile Swim in July, and the Belmar Ocean Mile Swim in August).
