BAMBOA designs, manufactures and markets contemporary and attractive bamboo products ranging from tableware to lifestyle products to floors, decks and even bamboo fabric. BAMBOA is based on Hong Kong Island where its products are sold in Lane Crawford, G.O.D., The Mandarin Oriental Spa Group, The Good Earth, a beautiful retail chain store across India.
The mission of BAMBOA is to provide beautiful products that help rural communities, support local artisans and encourage the use of a sustainable resource. It believes that beautiful and durable household products should not come at the environment’s expense. All BAMBOA products are made by rural communities, thus providing a livelihood for these communities. A part of the proceeds from selling bamboo products goes to these communities and towards environmental projects, which help protect our earth’s biodiversity and nature.
BAMBOA was founded in 2008 by Julia Washbourne due to her fascination for bamboo and its potential to help alleviate deforestation and poverty in rural areas. BAMBOA‘s goal is to provide beautiful contemporary bamboo products that help rural communities, support local artisans and encourage the use of a sustainable resource.
Its products were used at the Sheko Challenge and other sporting events.
