Bernd Berkhahn is the head coach of the German national open water swimming team.

Coaching Highlights

• He coached the German team that won all titles at the 2011 European Junior Open Water Swimming Championships at Navia, Spain.
• His swimmers won all four titles: Svenja Zihsler as 5 km individual female champion, Rob Muffels as 5 km individual male champion and German Team as the 3 km team event.
• He received the Coach of the Year award at the 2012 H2Open Awards organized by H2Open Magazine, an award designed to celebrate achievement in open water swimming.Co
• He coaches 2020 Tokyo Olympics 10 km marathon swimming champion Florian Wellbrock.
• He coaches Rob Muffels who finished 11th in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics 10 km marathon swim.
• He was named FINA Open Water Swimming Male Coach of the Year in 2021.
