Captain Norihito Ota is a Japanese fisherman and an escort pilot in the Tsugaru Channel in northern Japan.
Open Water Swimming Highlights
- On 4 August 2025, he escorted Bengisu Avci of Turkey who completed a 19.5 km crossing of the Tsugaru Channel from Aomori Prefecture to Hokkaido in northern Japan in 14 hours at the age of 28 under the escort of Captain Yoshimi Kawayama, observer Yuka Ito, and observer Toshinori Miyakoshi.
