Chad Starks

Chad Starks is a 45-year-old American marathon swimmer living in Utah. He is an active member of the board for the Salt Lake Open Water Swim Club and achieved the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming.

Open Water Swimming Career
- On 20 September 2015, he completed a 33.2 km crossing of the English Channel from England to France in 16 hours 54 minutes at the age of 41, coached by Gordon Gridley.
- On 24 September 2016, he completed a 32.3 km crossing of the Catalina Channel from Santa Catalina Island to the Southern California mainland in 13 hours 3 minutes 5 seconds at the age of 42.
- On 17 August 2019, he finished 14th in the 45.9 km 20 Bridges Swim around Manhattan Island in New York City in 9 hours 14 minutes 56 seconds at the age of 45 to join the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming.
- Starks is a two-time Utah Triple Crown swimmer swimming all three of Utah's marathon swims within the a calendar year.
- Starks became the sixth person to swim the 19-mile (40.5 km) length of Bear Lake, crossing in 14 hours 9 minutes in 64°F water at 5,924-foot (1,805m) elevation.
- On 8 June 2013, he finished 8th in the 13 km Great Salt Lake Marathon Swim in Utah in 4 hours 22 minutes 58 seconds at the age of 39.
- On 20 July 2013, he finished 7th in the 10 km Bear Lake Monster Swim in Utah in 3 hours 57 minutes 55 seconds at the age of 39.
- On 7 June 2014, he finished 6th in the 13 km Great Salt Lake Marathon Swim in Utah in 4 hours 33 minutes 32 seconds at the age of 40.
- On 9 August 2014, he finished 8th in the 16 km Deer Creek Marathon Swim in Utah in 5 hours 33 minutes 47 seconds at the age of 40.
- On 6 June 2015, he finished 7th in the 10 km Great Salt Lake Marathon Swim in Utah in 3 hours 23 minutes 20 seconds at the age of 41.
- On 1 June 2019, he finished 2nd in the 10 km Great Salt Lake Marathon Swim in Utah in 4 hours 8 minutes 21 seconds at the age of 45.
- He completed a 19-mile lengthwise crossing of Bear Lake in Utah.
- He completed a 6-mile widthwise crossing of Bear Lake in Utah.
- He completed the 11-mile The Great Moose Migration in Idaho.
- On 17 August 2019, he finished 14th in the 45.9 km 20 Bridges Swim around Manhattan Island in New York City in 9 hours 14 minutes 56 seconds at the age of 45.
