Clifford Golding MBE is a British open water swimmer, a crew member, writer, artist, marathon runner, and a speaker at the annual Open Water Show on the power of perseverance, presented by H2Open Magazine.

English Channel Career

On 17 July 1997, he completed a crossing of the English Channel from England to France in 13 hours 17 minutes on his seventh attempt.
In 1998, he completed a 66 km Round Jersey circumnavigation swim around Jersey in 10 hours 43 minutes.
On 23 July 2000, he completed the 26.4 km International Self-Transcendence Marathon-Schwimmen in Switzerland in 9 hours 24 minutes 5 seconds.
In 2000, he completed a 66 km circumnavigation swim around Jersey in 11 hours 43 minutes 10 seconds.
In 2002, he completed his third 66 km circumnavigation swim around Jersey in 10 hours 43 minutes 1 second.
On 29 June 2003, he completed his second crossing of the English Channel from England to France in 14 hours 37 minutes.
On 3 August 2003, he completed his second 26.4 km International Self-Transcendence Marathon-Schwimmen in Switzerland in 10 hours 9 minutes 35 seconds.
On 8 August 2004, he completed his third 26.4 km International Self-Transcendence Marathon-Schwimmen in Switzerland in 10 hours 48 minutes 52 seconds.
He served as a pilot for Team Battle Back at the 2012 Round Jersey Relays held under the auspices of the Jersey Long Distance Swimming Club.
In 2014, he completed a 22.5 km Jersey to France crossing in 9 hours 40 minutes.
In August 2016, he crewed for 59-year-old Sally Minty-Gravett MBE on her 36 hours 28 minute two-way crossing of the English Channel.
On 15 September 2017, he crossed Windermere in Lake District in England on 15 September 2017.
On 31 December 2017, he received an MBE for his services in open water swimming.

Coaching Career

He is a coach and staff member for SwimTrek, coaching on 10 international and domestic swim camps.
