2013 Cold Water Challenge
The Classic was started with an inaugural Cold Water Challenge in 2013, a 2.6-mile jetty-to-jetty ocean swim in Penfield Beach, Connecticut, established by Andy Davis and held in November where the water was south of 60ºF (15.5ºC) and as low as 55ºF (12ºC).
