Coney Island Brighton Beach Open Water Swimmers
Coney Island Brighton Beach Open Water Swimmers (CIББOWS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit group dedicated to being a community resource for open water swimmers of all levels. This includes providing regular group swims at Brighton Beach and Coney Island throughout the beach season and helping maintain/improve the water quality in New York City.
As several members are experienced, long distance swimmers, CIББOWS provides guidance and resources on training for swims across the English Channel, 20 Bridges, Catalina Channel and other challenging races.
CIББOWS offers three main activities: Group swims for the public, which are free; swim races for the public and club members; and water quality projects related to improving New York City's beaches, rivers and harbor.
CIББOWS Swims
CIББOWS organizes Grimaldo's Mile, Coney Island Triple Dip, Governors Island Swim and Breezy Point 5K.
