Pieter Christian Jongeneel Anderica of Spain completed a double circumnavigation swim of Manhattan Island in 20 hours 15 minutes on 18 September 2016, breaking the 2007 record of Skip Storch in 20 hours 56 minutes. Film by Fernando Alonso Films.
At the 2017 inaugural 91.8 km (57-mile) 40 Bridges Double Manhattan Island Swim on 29 July 2017, Jaimie Monahan swam in 20 hours 12 minutes to break Pieter Christian Jongeneel Anderica's existing record.
