Standen co-wrote Swimming with Smiles, a 226-page book with 400 photos and 68 true stories from open water swimmers, with Claire Bunker-Fellingham. Swimming with Shivers is a book with true stories from open water swimmers doing cold water swimming, winter swimming and ice swimming, including Elaine Howley in the 2017 Ice Swimming Aqua Sphere World Championships in Burghausen, Germany.
