Great Salt Lake Open Water Marathon Swim

The Great Salt Lake Open Water Marathon Swim offers two races: 1 mile and 8 miles in the Great Salt Lake in Utah, U.S.A. The event is co-hosted and organized by Gordon Gridley and Josh Green. The 8-mile record was set by Will Reeves on 8 June 2013 in 3 hours 10 minutes and was first swum by Orson Spencer in 1927 in 3 hours 40 minutes.

The Great Salt Lake Open Water Swim is one of America's Top 100 Open Water Swims.

Triple Crown of Utah Open Water Swimming

The 8-mile Great Salt Lake Open Water Marathon Swim is part of the Triple Crown of Utah Open Water Swimming together with the 10-mile Deer Creek Open Water Marathon Swim and the 7-mile Bear Lake Monster Swim.

Courses

1. GSL Marina to Black Rock Beach (1 mile) - This course is perfect for those new to open water swimming or for those who are needlessly worried about swimming in the Great Salt Lake. We will provide kayak support every 1/10th of the mile course.

2. Antelope Island to Blackrock Beach course (8 miles) - Each swimmer must have kayak support.
