Open Water Swimming Career
- he has completed a crossing of the English Channel at the age of 53 on 22 July 2014 in 11 hours 22 minutes, swimming from Shakespeare Beach in England to Musee du Mur de l'atlantique in France. His swim was ratified by the Channel Swimming & Piloting Federation and enabled him to join the Half Century Club.
- he has completed a crossing of the English Channel at the age of 54 on 7 September 2015 in 10 hours 32 minutes, escorted by Andy King and crewed by James King and Kevin Murphy in a two-way attempt that took 12 hours 4 minutes
- he completed the 12.5-mile Swim Around Key West on 8 June 2013 in 5 hours 5 minutes
- he completed the Great Chesapeake Bay Swim in 2012
- he completed the Swim Miami 10 km marathon swim in 2 hours 57 minutes in 2011
- he completed the Big Shoulders 5K in Lake Michigan in 2010.
