History

In May 2015, Georgios-Ioannis Tsianos became the first person in history to complete the world's highest climb, swim across the English Channel and successfully run the Marathon des Sables through the Sahara Desert.

Alternative Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming Achievements

On 13 July 2009, Steven Munatones of the World Open Water Swimming Association proposed a number of alternative Triple Crown swims based on the original Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming (English Channel + Catalina Channel + Manhattan Island Marathon Swim). Similar to the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing that can be defined differently, there are a number of alternative definitions for achievements of the original Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming.
