Jim Barber

James Barber, whose nickname is The Barge, is an American competitive swimmer and open water swimmer from Indianapolis, Indiana who is a member of the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming and a member of the Half Century Club. He was also on the cover of U.S. Masters Swimming SWIMMER Magazine in 2012 and has consistently placed high at local open water swimming competitions.

Oceans Seven

Barber also completed five channels of the Oceans Seven. He is planning to complete the Oceans Seven by the age of 64.

Barber created the Cold Water Perception Scale together with Bryan Boggs.
