Jody Jones
Jody Jones (died 7 November 2022) was a British open water swimmer and administrator from Hertfordshire.
Open Water Swimming Highlights
- On 28 August 2019, she swam 33.5 km across the English Channel from England to France in 18 hours 14 minutes 30 seconds at the age of 41 while undergoing chemotherapy for stage 4 bowel cancer.
- In 2016, she participated in an English Channel relay called 'Missed the Ferry’ in under 14 hours.
- In 2016, she completed a 10.5-mile crossing of Windermere in the Lake District of England.
- In 2017, she became a member of the Serpentine Swimming Club in Hyde Park, London.
- She was a member of the Channel Swimming & Piloting Federation committee
- She wrote a story for Swimming With Shivers, a book co-authored by Claire Bunker-Fellingham and Gary Standen about true stories from, by and about open water swimmers doing cold water swimming, winter swimming, and ice swimming.
