Yoelvis Pedraza, born in Cuba and emigrated to the United States, is an NCAA Swimming Championships qualifier and an All-American swimmer at the University of Florida. He is coached by Alex Pussieldi of the Davie Nadadores in Florida.
Swimming Career
- He swam at the 2009 USA Swimming National Championships, placing 10th in the 1500m free (15:27.94) and 4th in the 10km in the 2012 USA Swimming National Open Water Swimming Championships.
- He was named to the USA Swimming National Open Water Swimming Team
- He placed second in the 2012 Flowers Sea Swim
- He won the 5 km and Miami Mile at the Swim Miami event in Florida
- He won the 8-mile Swim For Alligator Lighthouse in Islamorada, Florida Keys on 19 September 2015.
- He represented the United States at the 2012 FINA 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup in Hong Kong where he finished 17th and at the 50th annual 15 km Travessia Powerade Mar Grande-Salvador in Salvador, Brazil where he finished second.
- He finished second at the 2013 USA Swimming National Open Water Swimming Championships 5 km in Castaic Lake, California on 19 May 2013
- He won the 2013 Flowers Sea Swim and the 2013 Flowers International 5k and 10k Swim in the Cayman Islands
- He represented the USA at the 2013 World University Games 10 km marathon swim in Kazan, Russia on 7 July
- He competed in the 2016 US Olympic Swimming Trials in the 1500m freestyle
- In August 2018, he finished 5th in the Mountain Swim Series Cliff Backyard Ultra Swim by completing 13 loops of a 1.5 km course (19.5 km cumulative total) at 2,425 meters in altitude in Wellington Lake in Bailey, Colorado amid the Rocky Mountains.
