Karolina Szczepaniak

Karolina Szczepaniak (born 12 August 1992 in Warsaw) is a Polish pool and open water swimmer who competed in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics and was a multiple Polish national champion and podium finisher.
2008 Beijing Olympics
At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, she competed in the 800m freestyle, finishing 35th in 9:08.87, and the 4 x 200m freestyle relay, finishing 15th.
Baltic Sea
- On 13 August 2025, she started to swim 172 km across the Baltic Sea from Poland to Öland, Sweden in a charity swim to raise money for prosthetics for children without arms, but she aborted the swim 57 hours and 140 km after the start.
- Part of her training included swimming in 48 hours in a 25m pool. Her 149.02 km distance was a Guinness World Record, set in Warsaw, Poland on 12 February 2025.
- On 9 March 2026, she set a Guinness World Record for a 72-hour non-stop pool swimming distance, covering 177.865 kilometers over 7,115 lengths in the pool at the Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw, Poland at the age of 33.
