Keith Garry is an Irish open water swimmer from Blackrock, Louth who has completed two Oceans Seven channels and whose nickname is the Ginja Ninja.
Open Water Swimming Career
- On 28 May 2022, he finished 8th overall in the 7.5 km Battle of Carlingford Lough Swim in Ireland in 2:13:35.
- he completed the 19.5 km Port Oriel Swim in the Irish Sea
- he won the skins division of the 1.5 km Round The Rock sea swim in Ireland in June 2014
- he successfully completed a crossing of the English Channel in 11 hours 42 minutes on 23 August 2014 that was awarded the most meritorious swim of 2014 by the Channel Swimming Association
- he was a member of the Team 210oSOUTHWEST that completed a Dál Riata channel crossing on 7 September 2015 with Keith Garry, John McElroy, Olive Conroy, and Adrian Poucher in 7 hours 33 minutes between Mull of Kintyre in Scotland and Cross Slieve, Cushendun Bay in Northern Ireland with Pádraig Mallon and Richard Lafferty as the escort pilots from the Infinity Channel Swimming and Piloting Services
- he successfully completed a crossing of the North Channel in 9 hours 57 minutes 28 seconds on 14 August 2016 to set a new male record
- he was nominated for the 2016 Open Water Swim Performance of the Year Award by the Irish Long Distance Swimming Association.
- he was a member of the OA Giants relay with Bill Donnelly, Chris Judge, Dominic Mudge, and Colin Lyndsey that completed a 35 km North Channel crossing on 2 August 2020 in 9 hours 2 minute 41 seconds.
