Low Country Splash
Low Country Splash is a 2.4-mile and 6-mile open water swim along the Mount Pleasant shoreline in Charleston harbor. Over 500 swimmers from 30 American states between the ages of 9 and 89 participate in the charity swim in the low country of South Carolina. It is one of America's Top 100 Open Water Swims. Its co-race director is Greg Banks.

Start and Finish
Wet Start at Hobcaw Yacht Club & Wet Finish at the Charleston Harbor Marina in front of the USS Yorktown.
Water Conditions
The swim is timed to coincide with an outgoing tide in water temperatures between 72-78ºF (22-25ºC) depending on the weather.
Course
The event runs 2.4 miles along the Mount Pleasant shoreline, swimming under the Cooper River Bridge and finishing at the Charleston Harbor Marina and Resorts in front of the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point.
Beneficiary
Proceeds from the Splash benefit the Logan Rutledge Children's Foundation, a local non-profit organization promoting the health and welfare of children in the Lowcountry. The foundation was established in May 2002 in memory of Logan Jennings Rutledge (30 July 2001 - 26 August 2001). Since its beginning the foundation has supported the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Medical University of South Carolina and has made numerous contributions to assist individual children in need in the Lowcountry.
Proceeds
The Splash has raised close to US$137,000 for the Logan Foundation over the past 10 years. While the foundation continues to be committed to children’s charities, a new swimming initiative is a focus as well. The last two years the foundation has appropriated US$60,000 to Charleston County School District for their swimming initiative to support swimming lessons for local schools.
Logan Rutledge Foundation
The Logan Rutledge Children's Foundation (LRCF) is a local non-profit organization promoting the health and welfare of children in the Lowcountry. The foundation was established in May of 2002 in memory of Logan Jennings Rutledge. Its efforts are focused on helping fund underprivileged children in drown-proofing and learn to swim programs in the Lowcountry and have made numerous contributions to assist individual children in need in the Lowcountry.
Logan Rutledge Children’s Foundation offers a new swimming initiative to benefit area children, Lowcountry Aquatics Project Swimming (LAPS), under the direction of LRCF and Splash Director Mark Rutledge.
LRCF was established in the loving memory of Logan Jennings Rutledge who was 30 born July 2001 at the Medical University of South Carolina. After a courageous battle, he died on 26 August 2001. The foundation has raised over US$80,000 over the years for programs that promote health and welfare for various children’s charities.
