Makapuʻu (Hawaiian: bulging eye) is the extreme eastern end of the island of O'ahu in the state of Hawaii. The cliff at Makapuʻu Point is the site of a prominent lighthouse. The area is dramatically scenic. It is located 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) east of Waimānalo Beach on Kalanianaole Highway or from the Honolulu side north of Sandy Beach. Makapuʻu includes the Makapuʻu Point lighthouse, blowholes and Mānana Island (Rabbit Island), Kāohikaipu, Makapu'u Beach Park and Kaupō Beach Park and the Makai Pier.
