Martha's Vineyard is a Massachusetts island that sits in the Atlantic Ocean just south of Cape Cod. A longtime New England summer colony, it encompasses harbor towns and lighthouses, sandy beaches and farmland. It's accessible only by boat or air. Vineyard Haven, on the eastern end, is a ferry port and the island's commercial center. Oak Bluffs has Carpenter Gothic cottages and an iconic carousel.

• Swimming Around the Vineyard was a stage swim by Dean Bragonier, a 27-stage solo swim that began on 11 July 2015 where he swam around Martha’s Vineyard in 2-mile stage swim increments with two days swimming + one day off.
• The Shark Swim 2025 is a 12-day stage swim around Martha's Vineyard between 15-16 May 2025 by UN Patron of the Oceans Lewis Pugh that coincides with the 50th anniversary of the movie Jaws to highlight the perilous plight of sharks around the world.
