2014-2015 WOWSS offers 13 races around the world including Swim The Island, organized by Matteo Testa

Matteo Testa is an Italian swimmer, swimming coach and triathlete who serves as the race director of the annual SwimTheIsland event - the ultimate sea water experience - in the protected marine environment of Bergeggi, Italy. The third edition will be held on 6 October 2013 and is part of the ProSwim Challenge.

He is also one of the race directors in the 2014-2015 World Open Water Swimming Series.

2015-2016 World Open Water Swimming Series[edit]

The Swim the Island is part of the 2015-2016 World Open Water Swimming Series (WOWSS), a global series of open water swimming competitions. FINIS and Ocean Recovery Alliance present the global open water swimming, a 17-race series spans Africa, North America, South America, Asia and Europe and includes some of the world’s most innovative, enjoyable, beautiful and signature open water swimming competitions.
