Michael Garr is an American pool and open water swimmer who pioneered the 11.1 km Around Beavertail Swim course on 1 October 2017 in 5 hours 30 minutes at the age of 64. It is now an annual event.

Around Beavertail Swim

The Around Beavertail Swim is an 11.1 km near-circumnavigation swim around Beavertail Island in Jamestown, Rhode Island, USA. Beavertail is connected by a small isthmus to Conanicut Island, so the 11.1 km route is a point-to-point, near-circumnavigation of the island.
