Michelle Brooker is an open water swimmer and member of the 3-person relay team called teamRIPTIDE together with Jack Boyle and Noel Grimes that became the first TRiO team to make the Dál Riata Channel Swim crossing.


In June 2016, teamRIPTIDE started at the Mull Of Kintyre, Scotland and made landfall south of Cushendun, Northern Ireland in 7 hours 44 minutes 21 seconds with support crew Milo McCourt and Afreen Ahmed and navigators Charles Stewart and Pádraig Mallon.

Dál Riata Channel crossing[edit]

The Dál Riata Channel Swim, previously known as the Mull of Kintyre Swim, is a 17 km (10.5-mile) channel swim was pioneered by Wayne Soutter from Mull of Kintyre in Scotland to Ballycastle in Northern Ireland. It is part of the Irish Triple Crown.
