Milo McCourt

Milo Mc Court is a 60-year-old Irish endurance athlete, triathlete, open water swimmer, and coach at Infinity Swim Academy.

Pokos Stag Relay[edit]
Mc Court participated in the Pokos Stag relay across the English Channel on 14 July 2009 under the guidance of escort boat pilot Reg Brickell, Jr. with Aoiffe McCourt-Lynch, Micky Lynch and brothers Sean Mallon, Martin Mallon and Pádraig Mallon.
Camlough Lake[edit]
He completed the 19.5 km Port Oriel Swim in the Irish Sea and the Barcelona Ironman triathlon and is considered the 'Godfather' of open water swimming in Camlough Lake in Ireland.
International Extreme Race of Winter Swimming[edit]
McCourt participated in the 2015 International Extreme Race of Winter Swimming, a technically difficult 500m swim across the Yellow River in northwest China's Qinghai Province at an altitude of 2,200 meters in Tibetan Plateau, the world's highest altitude swimming race.
Triathlon Career[edit]
Mc Court was awarded a bronze medal at the 2014 National Sprint Triathlon Series. He also was awarded the best all rounder as he competed at Sprint, Olympic, Ironman 70.3 and Ironman triathlons during the 2014 season.
teamRIPTIDE[edit]
McCourt was a crew member for the 3-person relay team called teamRIPTIDE (Michelle Brooker, Jack Boyle and Noel Grimes) that became the first TRiO team to make the Dál Riata Channel Swim crossing. In June 2016, teamRIPTIDE started at the Mull Of Kintyre, Scotland and made landfall south of Cushendun, Northern Ireland in 7 hours 44 minutes 21 seconds with support crew Afreen Ahmed and navigators Charles Stewart and Pádraig Mallon.
Triskelion[edit]
McCourt was the support crew for the 69.7 km crossing by Olive Conroy (Ireland), Conor Turner (Ireland), Elina Makïnen (Finland), Anna-Carin Nordin (Sweden), Rory Fitzgerald (Ireland), and Carole Laporte (France) across the Irish Sea between the Isle of Man and Ardglass, Northern Ireland on 17-18 June 2017 in 18 hours 8 minutes and 32 seconds.
Irish Sea Relay[edit]
- He served as the escort crew member for the 94 km Irish Sea Swim from Holyhead, Wales to Dublin, Ireland that benefitted the Gavin Glynn Foundation in 38 hours 52 minutes between 10:26 pm on 17 September 2019 and 1:20 pm on 19 September 2019. The team consisted of Captain Ger Kennedy, Vice Captain Anna Mc Carthy, Dee Newell, Ger Devin, Richard Dunne and Garreth Mc Dermot together with Pádraig Mallon and Nicky Donnelly with observer Ian Conroy on the Irish Sea Relay swim.
