Monica Bender is a 24-year-old American open water swimmer and student at the San Pedro's Mary Star of the Sea High School.
Open Water Swimming Career Highlights
- On 26 August 2012, she crossed the Catalina Channel in 9 hours 51 minutes 14 seconds.
- On 26 September 2015, she completed a crossing of the English Channel from England to France in 14 hours 41 minutes 0 seconds at the age of 20. She was awarded the Pierre Van Vooren Memorial Trophy by the Channel Swimming Association for the Swim in the most Arduous Conditions.
- On 13 July 2019, she finished 11th in the 45.9 km 20 Bridges Swim around Manhattan Island, New York in 8 hours 11 minutes 6 seconds at the age of 24 to complete the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming.
