The Naples Island Swim & SUP is an open water swimming event held in Alamitos Bay in Long Beach, California, known as the Aquatic Capital of America.

History

It started in 1903.

Events

  • Multiple events consists of open water swimming and SUP races of varying lengths in water that can range from the mid to high 60's.
  • Races start and finish occur between 2nd St. and Ocean Blvd off Bayshore Ave. and 54th Place in Long Beach.
  • Around-the-island competitors are encouraged to bring an escort paddler, but it is not necessary. Paddlers should bring their own equipment. However, a limited selection of kayaks will be available for rent on the beach.

History

Races have been held in Alamitos Bay since at least the 1950s in this area.
