Neva River

The Neva is a river in northwestern Russia flowing from Lake Ladoga through the western part of Leningrad Oblast to the Neva Bay of the Gulf of Finland. Despite its modest length of 74 km, it is the fourth largest river in Europe in terms of average discharge.
Open Water Swimming
- The Neva Swimming Marathon is a 77 km open water swim from the the mouth of the Neva River at the Oreshek fortress to the Gulf of Finland. It is part of the Grand Swim Series and one of the World's Top 100 Open Water Swimming Relays. Dmitry Yegorov completed the first 77 km Neva Race in 12 hours 17 minutes in 2017.
- 13 Bridges is a 27 km open water swim along the Neva River through St. Petersburg, Russia to the Gulf of Finland. It is part of the Grand Swim Series and one of the World's Top 100 Open Water Swimming Relays.
- St. Petersburg Big Neva Winter Swimming Cup is a winter swimming competition held in the Neva River in St. Petersburg, Russia in March, an International Winter Swimming Association-sanctioned event.
- On 21 June 2021, a 5-person team completed a 103 km relay down the Neva River into the Gulf of Finland in Russia in 22 hours 30 minutes: Roman Karkachev of St. Petersburg, Timur Falomkin of Tomsk, Andrey Zamyslov of Moscow, Ivan Kupriyanov and Anton Kutuev of Russia in 17°C water.
