Dr. Nicholas Murch is a 41-year-old British pool open water swimmer and water polo player from Devon who serves as a Marathon Swimming Mentor and describes the umbles.

- In 2015, he completed a 10-mile across Lake Windermere in 4 hours 36 minutes.
- On 26 July 2016, he completed a 33.5 km crossing of the English Channel from England to France in 11 hours 40 minutes.
- On 29-30 September 2016, he completed a 70 km crossing of Lake Geneva in Switzerland from Montreaux to Geneva in 32 hours 46 minutes 33 seconds to join the 24-Hour Club at the age of 37 under the auspices of the Lake Geneva Swimming Association.
- On 25 June 2018, he completed a 35 km crossing of the North Channel from Northern Ireland to Scotland in 11 hours 48 minutes 57 seconds between water 10-12 degrees C.
- He appeared in the month of November in the 2019 Marathon Swimmers Federation photo calendar.
- In 2018, he participated in a 70 km relay crossing of Lake Geneva in Switzerland under the auspices of the Lake Geneva Swimming Association with Michael Jennings, Nichola Murch, and Dawn Palmer in 22 hours 4 minutes.
- He serves as an ambassador for Selkie Swim Co.
- He has participated in swim safaris in Croatia, Mallorca, Montenegro and the British Virgin Islands.
- He completed a tandem swim with his wife Nichola Murch across the 32.2 km Catalina Channel from Catalina Island to Palos Verdes Peninsula in Southern California in 12 hours 56 minutes in 2019.
