Olympic Club

The Olympic Club is a San Francisco, California, U.S.A. athletic club with three golf courses and a long history in aquatic sports. It sponsors and organizes the annual Trans Tahoe Relays. The club's main City Clubhouse is located in downtown San Francisco. The club's Lakeside Clubhouse is located just north of the city's border with Daly City. The United States Golf Association recognizes the Olympic Club as one of the first 100 golf clubs established in the United States.

History
First named the "San Francisco Olympic Club", it is the oldest athletic club in the United States, established on May 6, 1860. In 1992, the Club set up the Winged "O" Foundation, which changed its name to The Olympic Club Foundation in 2002. Its purpose is to fund youth sports programs which primarily target less advantaged youth who live in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Trans Tahoe Relay
- The Olympic Club Trans Tahoe Relay is a beautiful and well-organized masters swimming relay event in Lake Tahoe. The 6-person relay annuals draws hundreds of teams from around the world and is one of the world's greatest open water swimming competitions.
- It is annually listed in America's Top 50 Open Water Swims and the World's Top 100 Open Water Swims.
- The unique open water swimming event started when The Olympic Club members decided to challenge each other to a team race across Lake Tahoe in 1976. Soon after, other clubs were invited to join this annual "Invitational Relay" event. In 2011, the race attracted over 1,134 competitors. Promoting team camaraderie and spirited competition between swimming clubs and other groups and organizations, it is now seen as a landmark of open water events.

The Trans Tahoe Relay gives the following awards that are presented at the WOWSA Talks
- 1976 Cup: presented to the overall Trans Tahoe Relay champions
- Keep Tahoe Blue Award: presented to the team that raises the most funds for The League To Save Lake Tahoe
- Spirit Award: presented to the team that best embodies the spirit of the swimming community
- The 1976 Cup was awarded to the Sunnyside Sinners for winning the 2018 Trans Tahoe Relay: captain Chad La Tourette, Mazen Aziz, Allison Arnold, Catherine Breed, Drew Cosgarea, and Bryan Offutt.
- The Keep Tahoe Blue Award was presented to the top fundraisers for The League to Save Lake Tahoe: captain Michael Ross, Damien Bates, Tim Sheeper, Ola Wiberg, and Richard Crowley.
- The Community Award was presented to the 25th Reunion Team honoring the first female competitors at The Olympic Club: captain Phyllis Quinn, Lynn Jolly, Joan Schriger, Mike McCaffery, Ed Rudloff, and Jim Griffith.
