Open Water Swimming Career
- He participated in a Catalina Channel relay crossing on 24 August 2014.
- He completed the inaugural Sea Monkey Challenge in Seal Beach, California.
- He completed a solo Catalina Channel crossing in 12 hours 54 minutes 24 seconds on 28 June 2016.
- He served as a crew member for a 32.3 km tandem relay crossing of the Catalina Channel from Santa Catalina Island to the Southern California mainland on 21-22 September 2019 in 9 hours 54 minutes.
- He served as a coach and support crew member for his daughter Brenna Knapp on her 10 hour 1 minute on 25 August 2024.
Sea Monkey Challenge
The Sea Monkey Challenge is a year-round program to swim in Seal Beach, California initiated by the Sea Monkeys, a pod of ocean swimmers who train and compete up and down the Southern California coast and many places around the world. Weekly workouts are held in the early morning hours on Thursday where ocean swimmers meet at the foot of the Seal Beach Pier.
