Robert Gillespie Drysdale is a British open water swimmer who has completed three channels in the Oceans Seven where he is globally ranked #36.
Channel Swimming Career
- Drysdale successfully completed an English Channel relay with La Grande Boucle on 9 July 2007 in 13 hours 3 minutes.
- Drysdale successfully crossed the 21-mile English Channel on 7 August 2008 in 14 hours 4 minutes.
- Drysdale successfully completed a 3-person English Channel relay with The Dover Slurpers on 28 June 2009 in 12 hours 29 minutes.
- Drysdale successfully crossed the Strait of Gibraltar on 4 September 2014 in 4 hours 55 minutes at the age of 50 to join the Half Century Club.
- Drysdale successfully crossed the 20.1-mile Catalina Channel on 19-20 August 2016 from the California mainland to Santa Catalina Island in 14 hours 23 minutes at the age of 52 to join the Half Century Club.
