The Seal Beach Rough Water Swim has been held in Seal Beach, California since 1954. It has been the site of the National AAU Long Distance Swimming Championships, USA Swimming National Open Water Swimming Championships and U.S. Masters Swimming national open water swimming championships. It is a charity swim for the Seal Beach Swim Club and a competitive multi-race event held annually in July. It is part of the Southern Pacific Masters Open Water Series. It was co-founded by Daisy Murchie, Amy Hiland and Mary Ann Ward. It is part of the Southern Pacific Masters Open Water Series held along the Southern California coast.
