Shubham Vanmali

Shubham Dhananjay Vanmali is a 23-year-old Indian student and open water swimmer who has completed three Oceans Seven channels and achieved the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming. He is coached by Gokul Kamath with the assistance of his father Dhananjay Vanmali.

Open Water Swimming Career
- Vanmali crossed the Strait of Gibraltar at the age of 18 in 3 hours 16 minutes on 14 August 2014
- Vanmali crossed the English Channel at the age of 18 in 12 hours 42 minutes on 4 August 2014
- Vanmali crossed the Catalina Channel at the age of 19 in 10 hours 42 minutes on 25 August 2015
- Vanmali completed the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim at the age of 19 in 8 hours 11 minutes on 11 September 2015.
- Vanmali attempted a crossing of the North Channel, but was pulled out unconscious in August 2016.
- On 24 May 2018, he completed a 16.1 km swim from Aquatic Park to Angel Island in San Francisco Bay in California in 10 hours 14 minutes 37 seconds at the age of 22.
- On 27 July 2016, he won the 10 km JF Dunne Insurances Grand Dublin Swim in the River Liffey in Dublin, Ireland.
- He completed a 35 km swim from Gateway of India to to Dharamtar in India.
- He is the subject of a book called Oceans Calling written by his parents Dipika Vanmali and Dhananjay Vanmali with English translation by Sushma Koppikar and Anuradha Shenoy about his sea swimming adventures from his parents' perspective.
