Solo Swim of the Year

noun - Solo Swim of the Year is an award given by the Marathon Swimmers Federation as part of its MSF Global Marathon Swimming Awards. The Solo Swim of the Year recognizes the most outstanding solo, unassisted marathon swim of the year - one by a male, and one by a female - and is voted upon by its membership.

- 2012: Tina Neill (USA) for her swim from San Clemente Island to the California mainland and Trent Grimsey (Australia) for a new English Channel record
- 2013: Wendy Trehiou (Jersey) for her two-way English Channel and Sylvain Estadieu (Sweden) from his butterfly crossing of the English Channel
- 2014: Chloё McCardel (Australia) for her 124.4-km swim from South Eleuthera Island to Nassau, Bahamas and Craig Lenning (USA) for his swim from the Farallon Islands to California mainland
- 2015: Chloё McCardel (Australia) for her three-way English Channel and Jason Betley (Great Britain) for his two-way Catalina Channel
- 2016: Sarah Thomas (USA) for her 80-mile swim in Lake Powell, Utah/Arizona and Howard James (Great Britain) for the earliest English Channel crossing on 16 May
- 2017: Sarah Thomas (USA) for her 104.6-mile swim in Lake Champlain, New York
