The Swimming Marathon of the Messinian Gulf (or the Messanian Gulf Swim or the International Marathon Messinian Gulf) has been held for 29 years in northern Greece and is sponsored by the Nautical Club of Kalamata by race organizer Dimitris Kakalikas.

Distance & Location

The 30 km point-to-point marathon swimming race between Kalamata and Koroni in Greece is also known as the Open Water Swimming Marathon Kalamata – Koroni or Κολυμβητικός Μαραθώνιος.

Date

The amateur marathon swim is traditionally held in early September. Additionally, two-way and three-way solo attempts are made at the same time as the event.
