Malia Metella, Théo Curin, and Mathieu Witvoet completed the 122 km self-sustained swim, an 11-day stage swim across Lake Titicaca

Théo Curin (born 20 April 2000) is a 22-year-old French quadruple amputee and a para swimming medalist at the International Paralympic Committee World Championships from Rehainviller. He was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis at the age of six, which resulted in amputations to the lower part of all four limbs.

Swimming Highlights

• On 15 November 2022, he competed in the 57 km Maratón Acuática Internacional Santa Fe - Coronda in Argentina with hand paddles, finishing in 8 hours 52 minutes, coached by Stéphane Lecat.
• He competes in the S5, SB4, SM5 classifications.
• He won silver medals in the S5 100m freestyle and S5 200m freestyle at the 2017 IPC World Championships in Mexico City, Mexico on 12 September 2019.
• A gym hall has been named after him at a school in Nancy, France on 22 January 2020.
• He completed the Défi Titicaca, a 122 km relay crossing of Lake Titicaca together with Malia Metella and Mathieu Witvoet, an eco-adventurer and marine environmentalist, from Bolivia to Peru at 3,811m altitude in a self-sustained manner, by pulling an eco-designed escort boat in which they will rest, sleep, and eat on, beginning on 10 November 2021.

• He has worked in a number of roles on a television show in France called 'Magazine de la Sante' [Health Magazine], featured as an actor in a fictional series called 'Vestiaires' [Locker Rooms], and appeared in the web series 'Live My Sport' and 'Harmony Heroes'.
• In 2019, he was a model in an advertising campaign for a French skin care company.
