Toshio Ogawa

Toshio Ogawa (born 小川敏雄 on 10 October 1954) is a Japanese open water swimmer.
Open Water Swimming
- He became the oldest person to successfully cross the 24 km Cook Strait in New Zealand. At the age of 60, he joined the Half Century Club for his crossing of 11 hours 51 minutes 59 seconds on 3 March 2015. He broke the oldest swimmer record of Tom Hecker who was a few month younger when he crossed on 17 January 2012 in 10 hours 36 minutes. He started from land near the Brothers Island off the South Island.
- He first attempted to cross the Cook Strait in 2004
- He crossed the Strait of Gibraltar on 5 October 2015 in 4 hours 26 minutes at the age of 60
