Zach Jirkovsky




Zack Jirkovsky is a designer and pool and open water swimmer from Ventura, California. He was a member of the Night Train Swimmers that attempted the SF to SB Relay, the world's longest non-stop ocean relay swim attempt (339 miles or 545.4km), swimming down the coast of California from San Francisco to Santa Barbara. His relay attempt was made together with Phil Cutti, Dave Holscher, Kim Chambers, Patti Bauernfeind and Joseph Locke, and was piloted by Vito Bialla. The SF to SB Relay was halted after 6 days due to bloom after bloom of venomous jellyfish.
Jirkovsky also completed a solo crossing of the Anacapa Channel off the California coast in 2012 under the auspices of the Santa Barbara Channel Swimming Association in 5 hours 59 minutes.

California Coastal Swim
Jirkovsky participated in the California Coastal Swim or the Nighttrain228, the Night Train Swimmers's world record setting non-stop ocean relay swim in history with its 228-mile (367 km) swim down the California coast from Gaviota State Park to Coronado between 22-26 August 2013. Under the direction of captain Vito Bialla with crew Hal McCormick and Patrick Horn, its relay members include Phil Cutti, David Holscher, Zach Jirkovsky, Luane Rowe, Blair Cannon, and Grace van der Byl with Walter Bean Scott as the alternate swimmer.
Ventura Deep Enders from San Nicholas Island to San Pedro

The Deep Enders relay swam from San Nicolas Island to San Pedro, California on 12-13 October 2015 on an unprecedented 112.8 km crossing of 33 hours 37 minutes 26 seconds. Coached by Theo Schmeeckle, the team comprised of Zach Jirkovsky, Jim McConica, John Chung, Stacey Warmuth, Tom Ball and Tamie Stewart. Escort kayakers and support crew included Allen Ball, Jill Ball, Bob Howell, Patty Howell, Pam Jirkowsky and Carol Lacy. The Santa Barbara Channel Swimming Association observers were Lynn Kubasek and Jax Cole. The swim was guided by Bottom Scratcher with captain Greg Elliott, Craig and Danny.
