[[File:Dan richards.jpg|300px|thumb|right|Dan Richards]]Dan Richards is an American [[open water swimmer]] from Arlington, Tennessee who is a member of the [[Half Century Club]] and the [[Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming]] as well as a lifetime member of the [[Catalina Channel Swimming Federation]].  Richards and his brother [[Scott Richards]], M.D. are the only siblings in history to complete the [[Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming]].  He has completed 3 of the 7 [[Oceans Seven]] channels to date.

==Marathon Swimming Career==

*On 19 April 2008, he finished 5th in the 46 km [[Tampa Bay Marathon Swim]] in Florida in 9 hours 11 minutes 12 seconds at the age of 51.  
*On 1 October 2008, he completed a 42.4 km [[crossing]] of the [[Catalina Channel]] from [[Santa Catalina Island]] to the Southern California [[mainland]] in 14 hours 59 minutes 24 seconds at the age of 52.  
*On 20 July 2010, he completed a 44.8 km [[crossing]] of the [[English Channel]] from England to France in 12 hours 42 minutes at the age of 54.  
*On 18 June 2011, he finished 10th in the 45.9 km [[Manhattan Island Marathon Swim]] in New York City in 8 hours 5 minutes 48 seconds at the age of 54 to complete the [[Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming]] and the [[Grand Slam of Open Water Swimming]].  
*On 26 June 2014, he completed a 14.4 km [[crossing]] of the [[Strait of Gibraltar]] from Spain to Morocco in 4 hours 29 minutes at the age of 56 to complete three [[Oceans Seven]] channels.
