Aquapreneurism
noun - Aquapreneurism is the act(s) or action of an aquapreneur who is an owner, visionary, executive or manager of a business enterprise in the aquatics world, striving to earn a living and/or make money through risk and initiative. Aquapreneurism is not just about making money and starting up a venture or owning a small business, it is a way of life, applicable to all human economic activities related to swimming or aquatic activities both for personal gain and for the common good.
Origin
Gary Emich circa 2006 popularized the term aquapreneurism. Based on aqua first known use in Middle English, from Latin in 14th century; see akw - in Indo-European roots + from entreprendre to undertake from old French in 1852.
Aquapreneursim is based on a combination of aquatics + entrepreneurism, originally a loanword from French and was first defined by the Irish-French economist Richard Cantillon. Jean-Baptiste Say, a French economist, is believed to have coined the word "entrepreneur" in the 19th century - he defined an entrepreneur as "one who undertakes an enterprise, especially a contractor, acting as intermediatory between capital and labour".
