Crippen Sunset Mile
The Crippen Sunset Mile is a memorial swim and part of the Open Water Festival in Fort Myers, Florida and part of the USA Swimming National Open Water Swimming Championships. The competition is named for international open water swimming legend Fran Crippen who passed away tragically in a FINA 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Its proceeds go to support the activities and athletes of the Fran Crippen Elevation Foundation.
It is one of America's Top 100 Open Water Swims.

April 24th: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM FGCU Aquatic Center (minimal fee “may” apply) open for training
April 25th: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM FGCU Aquatic Center (minimal fee “may” apply) open for training
April 26th: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM Course available for training. Enter through main entrance of Miromar Lakes
April 26th: 5:00 PM 10K National Championship Technical Meeting & Packet Pickup Miromar Lakes Beach Clubhouse
April 26th: 6:30 PM Coaches & Officials Welcome Social. Sponsored by Lee County Sports Authority at Miromar Lakes Beach Clubhouse
April 27th: 8:00 AM USA Women's 10K National Championships. Awards for USA Women's 10K National Championships to immediately follow
April 27th: 11:00 AM USA Men's 10K National Championships. Awards for USA Men's 10K National Championships to immediately follow
April 27th: 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM Florida Swimming/Gold Coast Pasta Dinner
April 28th: 8:00 AM Florida Swimming/Gold Coast Sr (15-18 yr old) 5K
