Isaac Papke

Isaac Papke was an open water swimmer and a member of the Dolphin Club of San Francisco, California.
Open Water Swimming Highlights
- He crossed the 32.3 km Catalina Channel from Santa Catalina Island to the California mainland on 30 June 1963 in 12 hours 45 minutes at the age of 41.
- He made an attempt to be the first swimmer to cross from the Farallon Islands to the California coast in November 1965 at the age of 39, but was pulled out after 15 hours in the water, retiring when he was 1.12 miles from the California mainland.
- He was a crew member on Ted Erikson's attempted crossing from the Farallon Islands in 1966.
- He was a crew member on Stewart Evans' successful crossing from the Farallon Islands to Stinson Beach in northern California in September 1967.
