noun - The Lifetime Achievement Awards are given to outstanding individuals in the sport of open water swimming over their entire career. The individuals may be athletes, coaches, pilots or administrators. It is awarded by both the World Open Water Swimming Association and the International Swimming Hall of Fame.

WOWSA Award

The awards, given by the World Open Water Swimming Association at the Global Open Water Swimming Conference, are meant to honor the heroes and heroines of the sport who best embody the spirit of open water swimming, possess the sense of adventure, tenacity and perseverance that open water swimmers are known for, and have most positively influence the global community of open water swimming.
