Nigel Downing is a 70-year-old British open water swimmer and a marine biologist.
Open Water Swimming Highlights
- In 2015, he completed a 14.4 km crossing of the Strait of Gibraltar in 4 hours 36 minutes with a wetsuit at the age of 64 when he raised £5,500 to support aviation charity Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF).
- In September 2022, he will attempt to cross the Strait of Bonifacio between the southern coast of Corsica and northern Sardinia, organized by Neda el Món.
