Venue

Applegate Lake is located in the heart of the Siskiyou Mountains in southwestern Oregon.

Course

The course consists of multiple 2.5 km loops depending on the race. Water temperature on race day has varied from 70-74ºF (21-23ºC).

All swims start in the water and finish on the beach near the water’s edge. Each 2.5 km loop roughly follows the contours of the lake shore on the way out and is approximately a straight line back to the start/finish area.

Feeding Station

The 5 km and 10 km swimmers provide their own beverages which will be placed on a table in 4-foot deep water near the starting line.

Time Limit

Swimmers who cannot complete the 10 km in 4.5 hours or the 5 km in 2.5 hours should not enter; swimmers on the course after these time limits may be stopped and listed as DNF in the results.
