Stephen Del Monte
Stephen Del Monte is the Founder/CEO/Family Man of DelMoSports and a former social worker, youth athletic coach and middle-school math teacher, Stephen of Wildwood Crest, New Jersey has spent his career inspiring others to achieve their personal best – in sports and in life.
After graduating from Wildwood Catholic High School in 1995, Del Monte earned a degree in elementary education and a cognate in special education from York College of Pennsylvania. He later earned a master’s degree in education from the University of Phoenix. He began his career in 1999, as a youth advocate and assistant baseball coach at York College. From 1994 through 2003, he served as a lifeguard for the North Wildwood Beach Patrol, and then taught mathematics for three years at Barratt Middle School in Philadelphia. In 2004, Del Monte established DelMoSports.
A hands-on business owner, Del Monte oversees everything that goes into planning triathlon events, including marketing, operations, logistics and community outreach. Del Monte has been recognized by the endurance sports community for his dedication to providing top-notch events along the Jersey Shore. In September 2012, Stephen was named Event Director of the Month by Active.com. Triathlon Business International athletes selected DelMoSports for three ‘Best Of’ nominations in their 2014 Triathletes Choice awards. Del Monte gives back to his community as a member of the board of directors at his former high school, Wildwood Catholic, and a trustee of the North Wildwood Beach Patrol. Del Monte and his wife, Jamie, are the proud parents of two children. Not surprisingly, he says his hobbies include “anything that’s physically challenging, spending time with my family and reading.”
